Your internet connection repeatedly receives a new IP address and is therefore not reliably reachable from outside. We give it a fixed name, for example myserver.dynhomeip.de, that always points to your connection. Some routers offer this as well, but usually only as a long random address. With us, you choose your custom name.
When ordering, you choose the plan and the name.
After ordering, you receive the access details by email.
Once you have entered it in your router, your connection is reachable under your name.
You choose the name before the dot yourself. When ordering, you then select one of these six extensions for the part after it:

You enter your custom name and the extension when ordering.
We maintain your name with both an IPv4 and an IPv6 address. Your router reports both, and we keep both up to date.
With some cable and fiber connections, the provider does not assign a dedicated IPv4 address (“DS-Lite”). In that case, your connection is reachable via IPv6, but not from IPv4-only connections. If you have questions about this, we are happy to advise you before you order.
DynDNS hosting is a standalone product and can be used without web hosting or a vServer.
You receive the update URL and access details by email after ordering.
