Like AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux is a rebuild of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and also a successor to CentOS. The choice between the two usually depends on the systems that are already in operation.
Rocky Linux 10 is supported until 2035, Rocky Linux 9 until 2032. You install updates yourself with dnf. Changing the major version requires a reinstallation in the customer portal.
Rocky Linux places emphasis on replicating Red Hat Enterprise Linux as closely as possible. Where a vendor certification explicitly names RHEL, that speaks in favor of Rocky Linux.
The same toolchain as AlmaLinux and the former CentOS. Existing processes and scripts can be carried over unchanged.
Version 10 receives security updates until 2035, version 9 until 2032.
You select Rocky Linux as the operating system when you order. A later reinstallation in the customer portal takes a few minutes.

Rocky Linux 10, 9
Shares the host system's kernel, starts in seconds and is the lower-priced option. Suitable for web servers, databases, applications and Docker.
Minimum term for new orders. After that, the contract continues for an indefinite period and is cancellable with one month's notice. For business customers 12 months, then renewal for twelve months at a time, cancellation with a notice period of three months to the end of the term.
Consumers can withdraw from the contract within fourteen days of its conclusion without giving any reason.
You pay only the monthly price. All prices include VAT.
A .de domain is included in the plan for the entire contract term, not just in the first year.
If you pay twelve months in advance, the price is reduced by 5%. The term is then twelve months. Without a renewal, the contract then continues at the monthly price.
Business customers can choose to pay 24 months (10% discount) or 36 months (15% discount) in advance.
